Abstract

A sensitivity of the globalization competition organization can be done by making changes. Some reaction arising from employees related changes in the organization. It is necessary to became readiness to change of employees that it can be run in accordance with the desired goals. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of transformasional leadership style and openess to experience on readiness for change of employees. The subject were employees of Company X. Characteristics of the subject in this study were at least a year became employee, at least 23 years old, 117 employees permanent employee status, and everfelt presence of organizational change. This type ofresearch uses field studies using quantitative methods. This study using three scale to measure variables that are readiness for change scale, transformasional leadership style scale and openess to experience scale. Hypotheses were tested using multiple reggression analysis. The result of this reasearch by value ofF= 13,738 and p=0,000 (p<0,01). Simultaneously, transformational leadership and opennes to experience style can predict readiness for change by 19,4 %.Keywords : Transformasional Leadership Style, Openness To Experience, Readiness For Change

Abstract

Compulsive buying is a psychosocial symptom as indicated by excessive buying behavior, even items purchased not always have a positive use value. This study analyzes the existing compulsive buying in adolescence and review of the role offamily factors. The hypothesis is there a relationship between compulsive buying behavior in families with several factors, including a divorce in the family, the family members of deviant behavior, patterns' communication in families, parental yielding, and the perceptions of parents of compulsive buying. The subject of this research is student of senior high school and university in Yogyakarta. This research using compulsive buying scale, deviant behavior of family member scale, pattern communication in families scale, parental yielding scale, and perceptions of parents of compulsive buying scale.Through a quantitative approach to the studyfound that of the severalfactors mentioned, there is only perception of compulsive buying factor that has a positive influence on compulsive buying behavior. Regression analysis showed that compulsive buying behavior in adolescents, 8.2 % is determined by the perception of the parents and the rest of the behavior is influenced by otherfactors. The more positive perception ofthe parents, then the compulsive buying behavior in which appears also higher. Conversely, the more negative the perception of older people who appear compulsive buying is also lower.Key words: Compulsive buying, family factors

Abstract

The purpose ofthis study is to examine the relationship between career commitment and employee's perception of transformational leadership to quality ofwork life. Data were collected from 70 employees from one company in Jakarta. Quantitative design was used and data was gathered using questionnaire according to each variables. Multiple regression analysis was applied to analyze the data. The result showed there are significant relationship between career commitment and employee's perception of transformational leadership to quality of work life with R = 0.685, p< 0,01. Total variance explained by career commitment and transformational to quality of work life was 46.9 percent.Keywords: quality of work life, career commitment, transformational leadership

Abstract

The main aim of this study was to understand how maternal sensitivity of domestic violence victim woman. This study also identify the factors of the maternal sensitivity. This study enganged two subjects that has been experienced getting domestic violence. Result ofthis studyfounded that maternal sensitivity of the subjects could be categorized into two levels; weak and strong maternal sensitivity. Strong maternal sensitivity can be seen by accepting the baby, cooperative with the baby, physical contact, emphaty, nurturance, the way of mother in fulfilling the baby's need when mother does not have money, hope and wish that still thinks about the baby. Meanwhile, the weak maternal sensitivity shown with rejecting of the baby present, neglecting, interfering, and agresivity. The weak maternal sensitivity effects on insecure attachment. Strong maternal sensitivity effects on secure attachment. The factors correlated with the maternal sensitivity are social support, baby's behavior, intensity of mother to meet the baby, the characteristic and condition of the mother, and value of children. In this study founded that social support is used by mothers as coping and helping mother to fulfill the baby's needs.Key words: maternal sensitivity, domestic violence

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand the correlation between character sti'engths and subjective well-being. The subject of this research is 50 of young adult native of Yogyakarta. Hypothesis in this research is there is a positive relation between character strengths and subjective vjell-being in young adult native of Yogyakarta. Sampling techniques that is used by this research is purposive sampling. This research use quantitative method. Collecting data tool used is character sti'engths and subjective well-being scale. Data was analyzed using product moment correlation techniques from Pearson by SPSS 16.00 for Windows. Result shows that there are positive correlation between character strengths and subjective well-being in young adult native of Yogyakarta. It is shown by positive correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0,713 and significance degree (p) ofO. GOO (p<0.001). Based on the result, it is said that hypothesis is accepted. Effective contribution character strengths to subjective well-being is shown by R square of50,8 that means 50,8% ofsubjective well-being in young adult native of Yogyakarta is influenced by character strengths. Score alpha for character strengths scale is 0.975, and score alpha for subjective well-being scale is 0.965.Keywords: character strengths, subjective well-being

Abstract

Objective this article explains the psychology of Islamic-based soft skills in tackling violent behavior towards the development of community mental health quality. Violent behavior tends to increase late this requires serious efforts to mitigate them, not only because of adverse abusers, but also carries the risk of harm and harm to others, and society in general. One alternative is to develop soft skills countermeasures based isalami psychology. Soft skills are personal excellence someone associated with the non­technical things, including the ability to communicate, socialize, and self-control. Soft skills strong influence on one's success and strengthen personalformation are balanced in terms of hard skills, oft skills-based Islamic psychology meaningful self-development oriented image of man in Islam. Conceptually, soft skills has a positive effect in the development of community mental health. Empirically, the results showed that the soft skills that include self-control and emotional maturity, self-concept, interpersonal communication, and social skills, in an effort to raise our influence violent behavior.Keywords: Violent, soft skills, mental healt.

Abstract

This present study sought to investigate the relationship between attachment styles to the father and coping strategies among early adolescents. The population that has been studied was the seventh grade students ofin one of junior high school in Banda Aceh city that meet the established criteria, specifically at least 12 years old and still have father. The sampling technique applied was universal sampling because the number of eligible population was only 81 students. Total of samples taken consists of 31 males and 50 females. In this study, research instrument used was two different scales, namely Adult Attachment Scale (AAS, Collins & Read, 1990) to measure attachment styles to the father and Self-Report Coping Scale (SRCS, Causey and Dubow, 1992) to measure coping strategies. Statistical test through Regression Analysis was operated to examine the hypothesis. Results showed that close attachment to the father, dependent attachment to the father, and anxiety attachment to the father were positive and strongly correlated with both coping strategies (approach coping strategy and avoidance coping strategy). Hence, it could be concluded that all types ofattachment styles to the father among early adolescents could affect to the choice of either approach coping and avoidance coping.Keywords: attachment styles to the father, coping strategies, early adolescents

Abstract

This study was developed referring to the negative connotation in using the word “fundamentalism ” and its using as an individual or group label. The method used in this study were literature review using many literatures about Islam and fundamentalism in any perspectives. Based on psychology perspective, it said that fundamentalism is an individual psychological construct associated with beliefs and individual interpretation of something, such as ideology, nationality, and religion. According to this perspective, this study states religious fundamentalism as an individual psychological construct that chacactherized as an interval variable. Nevertheless, the concept of religious fundamentalism among Muslims in the psychology literatures was conceptualized and constructed without consideration to normative doctrine of Islam. In fact, the concept of fundamentalism was born from the tradition of Christian and still polemical in its definition. By using the simple map of the doctrine of Islam, this study concludes that fundamentalism as a psychological constructs can be divided into two dimensions, namely pathological fundamentalism and non-pathological fundamentalism. This is related to the dimensionality of Islam that contains core dimensions (ushuul) and branch dimentions (furuu).Keywords:fundamentalism, islam, indonesian moslem.
